FAQs

  • Whether you're seeking counselling, emotional support, or simply a safe space to talk, I offer an integrative approach to therapy that draws on a range of methods to suit your unique needs and experiences. This means I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I tailor our work together using techniques from several therapeutic traditions:

    • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. It’s especially useful for anxiety, low mood, and stress.

    • Psychodynamic therapy which explores how past experiences, often from childhood, may be influencing your present relationships, emotions, and self-image.

    • Gestalt therapy which focuses on the here and now, helping you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations in the moment.

    • Person-centred therapy which places you at the heart of the process, offering empathy, acceptance, and a non-judgmental space to explore whatever you bring.

    • Trauma-informed therapy which ensures that our work is sensitive to the impact of trauma, prioritising safety, choice, and empowerment throughout.

This flexible, compassionate approach allows us to work in a way that feels right for you, whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck. Reach out to learn more: enquiries.bib@outlook.com

  • You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin therapy. Whether you’re facing a clear challenge or just have a sense that things could feel better, both are valid reasons to reach out. Therapy offers space to explore, reflect, and grow on your own terms.

Trust is key. You need to feel safe enough to be open, honest, and vulnerable, especially when exploring difficult emotions. That’s why choosing the right therapist is so important.

Reading through a therapist’s approach and how they describe their work can help you sense whether you resonate with them. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect, talk through what you're looking for, and see if we feel like a good fit to begin this journey together.

If at any point you feel the process isn’t working or you’re not feeling understood, we can talk about it. You should never feel stuck or obligated to continue with someone who doesn’t feel right for you. Your wellbeing is the priority, and it’s absolutely okay to seek a different approach or therapist if that better supports your needs.

  • After our initial 15-minute consultation where we’ll explore whether working together feels like a good fit, you’re welcome to book your first full session. This lasts for one hour.

We’ll begin by going over the therapy contract, confidentiality, and any questions you might have. From there, I invite you to start wherever feels most comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to dive into anything before you’re ready.

My approach is open and flexible, responding to what you need in the moment. Each session is shaped by you, whether that means talking through something specific, exploring emotions, or simply finding space to breathe and reflect.

  • Yes. Therapy is a confidential space. What you share stays between us as part of the therapeutic relationship. The only exception is if you disclose serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else. In such cases, I have a duty of care to act, but I would always aim to speak with you first before taking any steps.

Confidentiality is there to protect you, and any decisions made are with your safety and wellbeing in mind. We’ll go over this fully in our first session and within the therapy agreement, so you feel informed and supported from the start.

  • Each therapy session lasts between 50 minutes to an hour. I recommend weekly sessions to help build a strong therapeutic relationship and maintain momentum.

Therapy can be either short-term or long-term, depending on your needs. I don’t set a fixed number of sessions, as everyone’s journey is different. It often takes time to feel comfortable, share your experiences, and begin meaningful work together. Life can also bring unexpected challenges that we may need to navigate along the way. As a starting point, 12 sessions can offer a solid foundation, and we can always extend if it feels beneficial for you.

  • I offer an initial free 15 minute consultation. Followed by a discounted £40 first session fee, and ongoing sessions at £55

  • Yes, you’re always free to pause or end therapy whenever you choose. Life can throw unexpected curveballs, and sometimes circumstances shift in ways that make continuing feel difficult or overwhelming.

It’s also completely normal for therapy to feel challenging at times. Opening up can stir emotions or bring buried experiences to the surface, it might even feel like opening a can of worms. In those moments, it can be tempting to step away. But often, the most meaningful progress comes from staying with the process and working through the storm together. Having support during those tougher phases can make all the difference.

Ultimately, therapy is your space, and your pace matters. We’ll always talk things through so you feel empowered in your decisions, whether that means taking a break, adjusting the approach, or continuing forward.

  • I currently offer online therapy sessions, which provide flexibility and accessibility from the comfort of your own space. While my in-person availability in the Coventry and Warwickshire area is limited at the moment, I’m still welcoming new online clients and would be happy to support you in this way.

Online sessions are just as effective and can be a great option for fitting therapy into your routine. If you're interested, feel free to reach out to arrange a free 15-minute consultation.

  • I work with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, trauma, and abuse. My approach is sensitive, flexible, and tailored to meet you where you are.

I also have experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities (LD), and I make thoughtful adjustments to ensure therapy is accessible, inclusive, and responsive to neurodiverse needs.
